PolyGotcha is an iOS keyboard that translates as you type. In any app, on your device.
It's true, and some are good at it. But with most of them, your message takes a little trip first: off your phone, through their servers, sometimes straight into a big AI company's cloud, and whatever gets logged along the way is between them and their privacy policy. A keyboard sees everything you type into it, which is exactly why they ask for Full Access.
PolyGotcha's trick is not needing the trip. There are no servers on our end, so there is nowhere for your message to go. Full Access ships switched off, and while it is off iOS physically cuts the keyboard away from the internet, with Apple's models translating right on your iPhone. Less impressive infrastructure. Much shorter privacy policy.
Full Access is the permission that lets keyboards reach the internet. PolyGotcha ships with it off and never prompts you for it, so iOS itself keeps everything you type on your device. Turn it on only if you pick the Apple Translation model, which iOS will not open to a keyboard otherwise. Either way: no servers, no analytics, no tracking. We have nowhere to put your typing.
Translation runs on your iPhone, never on a server. Apple Intelligence handles nuance and tone, casual, formal, or street, on iPhone 15 Pro and later. Apple Translation is faster and works on any iPhone. Both detect the language you typed and pick the direction automatically.
Write your message normally and the translation appears above the keys. One tap replaces your text; undo is one tap away. It works in every app, from Messages to WhatsApp to email.
And it follows the thread: your last sent messages stay in mind, so names, tone, and references like "it" keep their meaning. A translator app you paste into starts every message from zero.
